West Herts ladies started 2015 with a resounding 4-0 win at Wapping in the East Premier League at Lee Valley on Saturday.
The game was the Stags’ first outdoors match since November but they showed few signs of rustiness as they set about their hosts.
An early penalty corner was saved but the lead was West Herts’ by the 13th minute as Becky Perry slotted home from a well-worked short corner routine.
Chances continued to flow for the visitors, who doubled up via Rachel Findlay at the far post following an incisive move.
Wapping did offer some threat but Judith Duffin tapped home her first two goals for the club after the break to seal the points.
Sunday’s game with Cambridge City was lost to a frozen pitch.
In Division Three South West, West Herts Thirds beat Vauxhall Seconds 3-2, whilst in Division Six South West, the Fifths were beaten 3-1 at Hertford Thirds.
