Brentford boss Mark Warburton believes reports he will leave the club at the end of the season will have no negative impact on his side against Watford this evening.

The Times reported this morning that Warburton would be replaced at the end of the campaign even if he was able to guide the Bees to promotion to the Premier League.

Brentford have since released a statement insisting Warburton remains in charge of the side but stopped short of denying The Times' story.

The Bees host Watford tonight at Griffin Park and it is an important game for both sides in their promotion battle.

Warburton insists the reports will not affect his players against the Hornets, who are just two points behind tonight’s hosts.

“The club have made a statement and everything is contained within that statement so my only focus it he team, the performance tonight and making sure we get the right result,” Warburton told Sky Sports today.

“The team is focused. There are 17 games to go and we are in a good position. They have worked so hard to get to this position so there is no negative impact for sure.

“We are focused on the job in hand which is a local derby, a packed Griffin Park and a tremendous atmosphere.

“Now our focus is delivering the right type of performance.”
