It was a successful weekend for West Herts Hockey Club’s mixed Under-14 side at they clinched two victories at a mini-tournament at Broxbourne.
The first match was against the hosts. The Stags fell behind from short-corner but fought back to clinch a narrow 2-1 win.
A match against Royston followed. Both teams elected to play without goalkeepers which led to a high-scoring contest. West Herts were able to secure a 6-2 win.
Elsewhere, the Under-16 boys drew 2-2 with St Albans the Under-12 Boys were beaten by Royston, St Albans and Harpenden and the Under-12 girls lost against Royston and St Albans but drew 2-2 with Harpenden.
