Kings Langley Ladies were left kicking themselves after losing 5-4 in a thrilling encounter with Broadhall Ladies.

An hour delay before half-time did not help though, as Kings fell to defeat in the Beds and Herts Women's Football League Division Three.

Kim Nield gave Langley the lead on 18 minutes before Broadhall levelled.

However, Rachael Lee soon found the back of the net to put Langley in front before the home side scored twice in seven minutes.

Debutant Kelly Toms went close too, seeing her header from Nield's corner flash just wide of the mark.

Five minutes from the interval there was an hour-long delay following a serious injury to one of the Broadhall strikers and it was the home side who settled quicker on the restart, scoring a fourth before half time.

On 53 minutes, Broadhall went further ahead only for Langley to mount a comeback.

Fay McMullan hammered the ball home on 69 minutes after seeing an initial shot blocked, whilst Nield saw her effort curl just wide of the far post. Lee then fed McMullan to grab her second on 89 minutes but Langley just ran out of time.

Kings Langley complete their league season this Sunday when they travel to Panshanger Ladies.
