GLASWEGIAN business tycoons Vera and Gerald Weisfeld got what everyone wants yesterday ...
an honorary degree.
The couple, who helped revolutionise high street shopping with their chain of value stores What Everyone Wants, were made honorary doctors of Business Administration by Napier University at a ceremony in Edinburgh.
The pair sold their shops for £50million and now spend their time doing charity work.
Mrs Weisfeld, 69, said: "This is the first honourary degree for us. We are delighted because we were a double act. Both of us built the business, it was teamwork.
"We own a lot to Scotland because it was the Scottish people who came in and bought our goods."
