A GLASGOW movie star has volunteered his services to help frail and elderly patients.
Gary Lewis, who starred in Gangs of New York with Leonardo DiCaprio and in Billy Elliot, features in a DVD made by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
It is aimed at helping elderly people and their carers after they leave hospital.
Christine Ashcroft, who manages the team dealing with the frail and elderly in their homes, said: "One of our team knows Gary and asked if he would take part.
"He said yes and gave his time free of charge."
The 25-minute DVD features various health experts working with patients as they spell out hazards in the home.
The DVD will be shown in hospital discharge lounges and it is hoped it will also be of interest to other organisations.
