A HARD-HITTING advertising campaign aimed at tracking down benefit cheats in Glasgow will run over the next six weeks.
Newspaper, radio and poster adverts - described by the Department of Work and Pensions as "chilling" - will appear.
Glasgow has been chosen because of the high number of people claiming benefit.
Last year, 520 people were cautioned by investigators and a further 107 were put forward to the courts.
The campaign entitled "No ifs, no buts" aims to make it clear to benefit thieves they face a greater chance than ever of getting caught.
Investigation officers have far-reaching powers, including surveillance and filming, can check customers' bank accounts, savings and investments.
They also have a close relationship with police, customs officials, local authorities and the criminal justice system.
