THE stars of the Scottish Youth Theatre are heading to the Big Apple next month as part of the Scotland Week celebrations.
They plan to stage the international premiere of When A Star Falls, a production about identity and nationality, in the Algonquin Theatre on East 24th Street.
While in America, the Glasgow-based group will host a series of drama workshops with young people from some of New York's youth theatres.
Culture Minister Linda Fabiani said: "I'm delighted the Scottish Youth Theatre is taking part in Scotland Week, showcasing our creative talent to the world.
"The company has a great reputation for building social and creative skills in young people, providing opportunities for cultural excellence to flourish."
Youth Theatre artistic director Mary McCluskey added: "The organisation is keen to bring its high-quality theatre work to the young people of New York."
