LOOKING like a cross between Jacques Cousteau and the Creature From The Black Lagoon, Constable Wood of the Glasgow police frogman team emerges from the deep end of Gorbals baths.
His colleagues, hardly dressed for the event, look less than impressed with his antics, but before too long they would be happy to call on his services.
Back then, the Clyde and the city's many docks and canal basins offered deep and dark dumping grounds for criminals to get rid of weapons or other evidence. Once the police could scour the murky depths, they were one step closer to catching the culprits.
