IT'S one of the quirkiest adverts on the box ... a 22-piece orchestra plays beautiful music on instruments made entirely from car parts.

Now people in Glasgow have the chance to see and hear the remarkable ensemble.

American designer Bill Milbrodt, 55, is bringing his bizarre band to the Old Fruitmarket on Thursday for three days as part of a nationwide tour in a bid to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which plans a new £700,000 six-bed unit at the city's Yorkhill Hospital.

Bill said people are stunned when they first hear music coming from the instruments.

The free exhibition - donations are encouraged for the Trust - allows visitors to learn more about the instruments made from Ford Focus parts.

The Merchant City show runs from 11am until 6pm each day and will feature live performances at 1.15pm and 5.15pm.
