AROUND six million Brits never take their full holiday entitlement.
And a new survey today also revealed a quarter of British staff will cancel their holiday this year because of pressure of work.
The Expedia study found many stressed and over-worked Britons were too busy to plan a summer getaway.
Even those who do book a trip often fail to leave home, with 20% having had to cancel a holiday because of last-minute commitments at work.
And around 14% take their work with them on holiday. The workaholics never switch off, and need to constantly check work e-mails and messages in case they miss out.
Britons are also the most disorganised people in Europe when it comes to booking their holiday, with 14% having a backlog of days at the end of the year which they can't roll over.
Alison Couper, the Communications Director of Expedia.co.uk, said: "Getting your work-life balance just right is sometimes difficult due to work pressures.
"But it is very important to ensure that you give yourself enough time to recharge your batteries and you switch off from the working environment.
"So even if you can only get away for a few days, it will still make a big difference."
