GLASGOW'S first Gaelic superschool was officially opened today.
Education Minister Hugh Henry led the ceremony at the £4million campus, which caters for children from pre-5 to secondary school at the former Woodside Secondary School.
Pupils are taught entirely in Gaelic from the aged of three until they leave school at 18.
The school caters for 320 pupils and has attracted dozens of placing requests from local authorities around Glasgow.
Councillor Margaret McCafferty said: "With this new campus, Glasgow is helping to protect the Gaelic language and culture for future generations of Glaswegians and Scots."
The new campus supersedes the former Gaelic Primary and Nursery school in Ashley Street and the Gaelic unit in Hillpark Secondary.
The new campus was given the go ahead by the council in December 2004.
