THE Red Cross is on the lookout for volunteers to teach youngsters about humanitarian issues.

The charity wants to find 10 people, in the Clydebank and Dunbartonshire areas, who can run workshops for children to raise their awareness of the world around them.

Among the subjects the workshops will deal with are life-saving skills, child soldiers, international law, asylum seekers and emergency relief overseas.

Donna Brogan of the Red Cross said: "All Scots schools have an obligation to deliver citizenship in their curriculum.

"We want to get young people engaged in this and thinking about key issues in society, such as the effects of natural disasters, as well as teaching them key life skills, such as first aid."
