CHEALSEA captain John Terry will miss Sunday's Carling Cup Final after lasting just 10 minutes of last night's Champions League tie against Porto.

The England skipper limped home from Portugal on crutches and wearing a special boot to protect the injury following the 1-1 draw.

And he will undergo scans on his right ankle today to determine the extent of his lay-off. But he is expected to be fit for England's World Cup qualifiers against Israel and Andorra next month.

Chelsea were hit by a double blow as Porto went on to score their opening goal while Terry was receiving treatment on his ankle.

Raul Meireles took advantage of sloppy defending to put Jose Mourinho's former team in front with a volley that zipped beyond Blues goalkeeper Petr Cech.

But five minutes later Andriy Shevchenko scored his 58th goal in European competition to leave him just four short of Gerd Muller's all-time record.

Chelsea boss Mourinho cursed his luck over the injury to injury to Terry. But Dutchman Arjen Robben, taken off at half-time with a muscle injury, should be fit to face London rivals Arsenal in the Millennium Stadium.

Mourinho said: "We have a lot of problems, but we are surviving. We cannot cry about it."
