ARTUR BORUC has assured worried Celtic fans he has no plans to go anywhere.

The Polish keeper has been linked with moves to AC Milan and Bayern Munich since his wonder show in the San Siro last week saw him voted into the Champions League team of the round.

Arsenal are believed to have been tracking the 27-year-old for more than a year as a possible replacement for Jans Lehmann, who is out of contract at the end of this season.

But Boruc said today he has no intention of moving, and is content to see out his contract at Parkhead.

He said: "I have a contract till 2009 and I don't want to leave Celtic. When there's an appropriate offer I will worry and think about it. For the moment we've just played in the Champions League and will see what effects it will bring.

"There are three or four teams in every league it is worth considering playing for. But I am waiting for what the future brings.

"If I am to fulfil my contract, I won't cry."

Boruc - who is in line to cement his place in the Poland side when they meet Azerbaijan and Armenia later this month - has been boosted by the fact he has the full backing of Celtic boss Gordon Strachan, the man who bought him from Legia Warsaw when no-one else was prepared to give him his big break.

But the keeper is also aware that, should a massive offer come in for him this summer, Celtic would be obliged to consider it.

Boruc said: "It's nice to hear that the manager doesn't want to hear of me leaving the club. It proves that my position at the club is strong.

"On the other hand, I'm aware that if there's an interesting offer he might change his mind.

"People talk and write about me going. But the truth is I have no contact with any other club."

Celtic would rather be adding to their squad than losing any of their top players.

And they are stepping up their search for a new 20-goals-per-season striker in Europe where they believe they can still get value for their money.

The Parkhead club have been linked with an interest in £6million-rated David Nugent, and Strachan is reported to have watched him in action.

But Nugent's goals for promotion-chasing Preston have not only pushed him to the verge of a full cap, but also onto the radar of Premiership clubs, including Everton, Bolton and Manchester City.

As a consequence, Nugent's value - and pay demands - take him well outwith Celtic's reach.

Rangers had also been credited with an interest in Nugent, but Ibrox boss Walter Smith has shot this down.

He said: "There's nothing in it. People saw me at a Preston game and put two and two together."
