Watford were far from their best against Millwall yesterday but they did enough to clinch a 2-0 victory at The Den. Matej Vydra and Adlene Guedioura scored the goals but who was your Hornets man of the match?
Heurelho Gomes was excellent at The Den. The Brazilian goalkeeper produced a number of impressive saves to deny the hosts when the Watford defence was breached.
Ikechi Anya only played an hour of the contest but he certainly made his mark. The wing-back produced a neat pass to create Matej Vydra’s opener and then teed up Adlene Guedioura for the Hornets’ second goal of the game.
Daniel Tozser produced a customary assured display in the Hornets midfield. His range of passing started several attacks and he played a key role in the Golden Boys’ opening goal of the victory.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s decided to start Vydra ahead of Odion Ighalo and the Czech Republic international vindicated his decision by scoring a wonderful volley to put the Hornets in front.
Vydra’s work-rate throughout the contest was again excellent and he has now netted 14 times in the Championship.
But who was your stand-out performer? Vote in our ballot and explain you decision in the comments section?
