It was a weekend of celebration for Watford supporters following the club’s promotion to the Premier League but it could get even better this evening as the Hornets will clinch the Championship title if Bournemouth are beaten by Bolton Wanderers.

Watford currently sit first in the table on 88 points while Bournemouth are second on 84, however, Eddie Howe’s side have a game in hand.

That will be played this evening as the Cherries welcome Neil Lennon’s side to Dean Court.

The match is live on Sky Sports and if Bournemouth are beaten then the Golden Boys will clinch top spot.

Should the match end in a draw or a Bournemouth victory then the title race will go down to the final day of the season.

A draw would leave the Cherries three points behind the Hornets, who would then only need a point against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday to lift the Championship trophy.

Victory for Howe's side this evening would mean Watford would have to match Bournemouth's result on the final day to guarantee they finish in top spot.
