Watford's players will be greeted by a sea of yellow and black when they walk out of the Vicarage Road Stadium tunnel for tomorrow Championship title decider against Sheffield Wednesday. Yes, The 1881 Movement has been busy once again.

The supporters group has played a pivotal role in building the atmosphere at the Hornets’ home matches this season and it will be no different for the Owls’ visit.

The 1881 are firstly urging fans to arrive at the stadium at around 10am and line both Vicarage Road and Occupation Road as the Watford team coach arrives.

Supporters in the Rookery should then be in their seats by noon – fifteen minutes before kick-off – in order to help create a foil banner across the stand. What will be displayed? Roy Moore, who created the group, was tight-lipped on that.

Elsewhere, Black and yellow flags will be positioned in the Lower Graham Taylor Stand and Vicarage Road Stand for fans and yellow balloons will be released from the Sir Elton John Stand.

And Moore says the group’s aim is for the Hornets supporters to be considered the best in the country.

He explained: “It (The 1881) makes me very proud but we still have a long road in front of us.

“We want Watford to have the best fans in the country, which has been our aim from the start. We’re not there yet but we are a lot closer.

“It is not just down to me though. More and more people are helping us and we’ll have 60 people arriving at Vicarage Road at 8.45am on Saturday to lay out the foil.”

“After this weekend though I will be turning my phone off for two weeks,” Moore joked.

“When I am not working The 1881 takes up the rest of my time.

“My two boys have loved it but I have barely seen my wife. So it will be the right time to take a small break.”

While Watford’s immediate focus will be on winning tomorrow’s game and being crowned champions, Moore and the group have already started planning for the Premier League.

A card display for the opening home match of the 2015/2016 campaign is in the pipeline and there will be more flags – although Moore does have a small request.

“We need people to leave the flags in the ground after the match,” he explained. “Half of them were paid for by the club and half of them were paid for by us (The 1881).

“The problem is some people have taken them and then not brought them to the next game. So we have had to buy more and each one costs £7.

“We’re going to have yellow wheelie bins at the front of the stands, so if fans could place them in there after the game it would be a massive help.”

And on Watford’s momentous campaign, Moore, who wanted to thank Willy Worth, Barry O'Neil, Ali Shah, Alex Prentice, Matt Turner, Jeff Dyer and Ross Jackson for their efforts through the season, added: “It’s been brilliant. If I have to give it a rating out of ten, I’d give it ten.

“Under the Pozzos there has been a complete turnaround. We have gone from a club in crisis to the Premier League. I’m already looking forward to next season and what the Pozzos have planned.”
