Watford Ladies Under-15 Hornets overcame Hitchin Belles 3-2 to win the League Cup, finishing with just ten players.

The Hornets had played ten fixtures in just 25 days prior to the final and without any substitutes they were always likely to be up against it.

However, there was no sign of tired legs as Watford raced into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes thanks to a brace from Rebecca Evans.

Just before the break Hitchin grabbed themselves a lifeline and they equalised early in the second half.

And things went from bad to worse for the Hornets as Olivia Syson was forced off with injury, leaving the side with just ten players.

Yet it was Watford who got their hands on the silverware as with ten minutes remaining, Ciara John volleyed home Danielle Maloney's corner superbly sink Hitchin for good.

Watford's Under-17 Wasps narrowly missed on out the silverware when they lost on penalties to Enfield Town.

Carly Gilbey registered for Watford before Enfield equalised in normal time.

Deadlock ensued and the score remained 1-1 after extra time before the Towners won 5-4 from the spot.

The Under-13 Hornets won the League Shield by crushing Knebworth 5-1.

Meanwhile, the Under-13 Harts lost 4-2 in the League Cup final against Garston Ladies.

Second half goals from Lola Forsyth and substitute Jemimah Rose were not enough to overcome Garston.

Watford's Jessica Gough took some consolation from the player of the match award.
