Blackburn Rovers have not received an official approach from Watford for Rudy Gestede and the club would demand more than a £5 million fee if the striker is to leave Ewood Park this summer.
Reports in the national media yesterday suggested the Hornets were close to agreeing a £5 million deal for the Benin international, however, Rovers were left bemused by the speculation as there has been no contact between the two clubs.
Our sister paper, the Lancashire Telegraph, report Blackburn’s owners Venky’s would demand a fee well in excess of £5 million and rejected a £3.5 million bid from Crystal Palace for the 26-year-old in January.
