Garston Ladies FC held their annual end-of-season presentation evening on Saturday to recognise their players’ achievements throughout the season.

Each of the club’s 320 players received a trophy recognising their efforts in the 2014/15 campaign and special awards were given to the Manager’s Player of the Year, the Players’ Player of the Year and the Most Improved Player in each squad.

In line with the FA’s Respect campaign, the club also presented an Outstanding Attitude award to the girl in each squad who best demonstrates the principles of ‘fair play’.

Danielle Denham, Karina Hastie and Lauren Berryman shared the Garston Ladies 96 Player of the Year award, whilst Lucy Hart was recognised at Under-16 level.

Ellie Fitzgibbons was recognised for the Under-15s, with Katie Cox the Under-14 recipient. Megan Allaway was named Under-13 Mets Player of the Year with Katie Cox the Diamonds’ winner.

Georgia Rosenberg scooped the Under-12 Diamonds’ gong, whilst Claudia Bulow was the Under-12 Mets winner. Ellie Rowe clinched the award for the Under-11 Diamonds and Imogen Law was the Mets’ victor.

For the Under-10 Sharks, Madi Broch was recognised as Player of the Year, with Anna Berry sealing the title for the Diamonds and Faith Humphrey for the Mets.

Niamh O’Meara picked up the silverware for the Under-9 Diamonds and Rosie Alexander for the Mets team.

In the Under-8 age-group, Nancy Francis was named as the Diamonds’ Player of the Year, whilst Gabriella Spillman was the Mets’ best player.

Sarah Zaoui took the recognition for the Under-7 Sharks, Kodie Wells for the Under-6 Cubs and Isabelle Lodge-Thomson for the Under-5 Cubs.

The final award of the evening was presented by the club’s chairman, Ray Smith, to Daisy Culaj and Ella Cowderoy.

In addition to playing for 96FC, the club’s league-winning open-age team, the pair also run the Under-6 and Under-5 squads and their efforts were jointly recognised with the award of Garston Ladies’ Club Player of the Year trophy.
