The Watford Observer understands the Hornets rebuffed an enquiry from Nottingham Forest to take Matej Vydra on loan and the Golden Boys currently have no intention of letting the striker leave Vicarage Road.
The Czech Republic international has had to watch on from the substitutes’ bench during Watford’s first two Premier League matches, both of which have ended in draws.
The 23-year-old’s lack of first-team action alerted Forest who contacted the Hornets in order to find out if they would be willing to let Vydra leave on loan.
That enquiry was swiftly rejected with Vydra in the first-team fold despite not having yet made a Premier League appearance for the Golden Boys.
The striker joined the Hornets permanently this summer from Udinese following two successful loan spells at Vicarage Road in which he scored 38 times.
He spent the 2013/2014 campaign on loan in the top flight at West Bromwich Albion but only found the net three times in 25 appearances. However, only nine of those were starts.
