Leaders Radlett consolidated top spot in the Herts Premier Division after thrashing Sawbridgeworth by ten wickets on Saturday.

The visitors were in ruthless form as they destroyed their opponents to stay 37 points clear off closest challengers North Mymms.

Sawbo were put into bat after losing the toss and they were left shell-shocked after being dismissed for just 44 in 15.5 overs.

Departing captain Shane Burger returned figures of three for 11 but the star bowler was Randeep Sanghera after he claimed seven for 32 in an exceptional performance.

In reply, Fraser Crawford finished on 30 not out and Kabir Toor scored 11 not out as Radlett claimed victory in only 5.5 overs.

It was Radlett's sixth consecutive win ahead of this weekend's game against Leverstock Green.

Hemel Hempstead Town's relegation was sealed after a 60-run defeat to Welwyn Garden City.

Welwyn looked in trouble early on at 32 for three but they steadied the ship and recovered to post an impressive total of 253 for nine. Brad Finch took the wickets of the three opening batsmen on his way to figures of four for 54. Brett Penny, Steve Reader, Parth Metha and Faisal Iqbal each returned one wicket apiece.

Hemel's innings got off to a promising start with Penny and Hemish Ilangratne both scoring 43. Vibhor Yadav hit 25 and Josh Graves contributed 23 but it was not quite enough as the side were all out for 193.

With only two wins from the league this season, Hemel have run out of time and their latest setback ended their hopes of staying up.

West Herts suffered a 30-run home defeat in the Championship to Flitwick which left them second bottom in the table.

Flitwick opted to open the batting after winning the toss. The visitors more than held their own as they managed to score a total of 208 all out from 48.4 overs. Daniel Woosley returned figures of three for 32 while Simphiwe Yiba came away with three for 48.

Ryan Woosley claimed two for nine while Matthew Smith and Vinesh Gorasia both managed one wicket apiece.

West Herts opener Barry Marshall hit 19 and Smith top scored with 43. Gorasia scored 38 and Alastair Lewish notched 20 but the side fell short of their target on 178 all out.

The team will hope to bounce back with a win over Hoddesdon this weekend.

Chorleywood kept themselves in with a chance of avoiding relegation with a 19-run win at Reed.

The result sees them still locked in a three-way basement battle and having to play both of the other teams involved - West Herts and Shenley Village - in their final two games of the season.

On Saturday, things looked like they were following a familiar pattern for Wood as they batted first and were bowled out for a below-par total of 157. Ryan Evans continued his impressive form with the bat as he finished unbeaten on 44, but Evans effort along with Ed Lye's 37 were the only knocks of note in another poor innings for the visitors.

However Wood's bowlers then rose to the challenge and ripped into Reed's batting line-up early on and picked up wickets at regular intervals to stop the home side building any real momentum. There were three wickets apiece for Evans (three for 22), Jamie Smithson (three for 23) and Peter Dunning (three for 32) as Wood produced one of their best performances of the season to bowl Reed out for just 138 in the final over to pick up a vital 30 points.

Wood now face Shenley Village at home before a final day trip to West Herts with everything still to play for in a dramatic conclusion to their season.

Langleybury edged to a ten-run win over Stevenage.

Richard Soulsby (20) and Luke Samarasinghe (37) opened the innings after Richard Oxley had won the toss. Soulsby smashed his runs off 16 balls and was first out with the score on 28 in the fourth over. Wickets tumbled and Langleybury found themselves at 108 for eight in the 30th over. Oxley (39 not out) was then joined by Andrew Cheeseman (18) in a partnership of 28 and then Khalid Manzoor (34 not out) in a last wicket of 61 to finish on 197 for nine.

Stevenage started poorly, losing their skipper Chris Whitworth in the third over to Richard Oxley (two for 43). Langleybury continued to take wickets and Stevenage were 137 for six with Steve Carter the pick of the bowlers taking two for 23 off his ten overs.

That was until Dan O’Connell (four for 25 in seven overs) was introduced in the 31st over. He soon had two wickets, but again Langleybury found it difficult to finish off the tail, as Laurie Brown (56 not out) and Rhys Stewart (nine) put on 50 for the ninth wicket. But this time Langleybury were not frustrated, as Dan O’Connell took the last two wickets in an over to secure the win.

In Division Two A, a tense five-wicket win for Leverstock Green at Preston leaves Dayle Littlejohn's team two wins from the title.

The skipper took four for 27 which, combined with three for three from Imran Iqbal, saw hosts Preston - who chose to bat first - removed for 92.

With Levy at one for two, thanks to the removal of in-form openers Miles Barnard and Lewis Koch, the match was in the balance. Enter wicketkeeper Kyle Claxton, who played an excellent hand of 35 not out from number three during a nervy run chase. Kris Jadeja's quickfire 21 and Mark Landau's watchful 18 not out also helped get Levy over the line.

Now Green must defeat Watford Town and Old Owens to secure both promotion to Division One and the title, with Radlett Seconds and Northwood close behind offering little margin for error.

Watford Town fell to a three-wicket defeat to relegation-threatened St Albans.

Choosing to bat, Watford's innings often promised much more than the 192 scored. Yogesh Pujari opened the batting with 20 and partner Ahtsham Hussain top scored with 41.

Ibrar Hanif notched 26 while former England player Kabir Ali was only able to score 19. Pavan Chesetty added 17 while there were contributions from Gulfraz Riaz (18) and Ravi Panchal (16).

The wickets fell early for St Albans as they slumped to 32 for four but a crucial partnership of 114 between Matt Howeson and Sam Kindlen turned the game in their favour.

At 157 for seven the game was in the balance but an unbeaten 26 from Phil Caley secured the points. Chesetty came away with figures of four for 36 and Panchal also picked up two for 27.

Abbots Langley are on the verge of winning the Division Two B title after edging to a two-wicket victory over third-placed Hemel Hempstead Town Seconds.

Hemel batted first but never truly got to grips with their innings as they were dismissed for 152. Suren Perera opened with 49, while Tom Waterton scored 36 and Richard Morton chipped in with 30. The wickets were shared around for Abbots with Neel Patel taking two for 20 and Daniel Roache claiming two for 27. Nick Gurney picked up two for 24 while Ibby Usman and Chris Chellew returned identical figures of two for 32.

Abbots did not have it all their own way in reply but managed to reach the target for the loss of eight wickets in 36.1 overs. Chellew hit 26 which was a score that was matched by the unbeaten Laurence Watson. Patel also scored 23 along with 22 from opener Matthew Parkins.

Hemel's best bowler was Richard Morton with three for 32 and there were two wickets apiece for Billy May and Charlie Hoskins.

In Division Four A, Chorleywood Seconds clinched promotion with two games still to play as they once again held their nerve to pick up a 14-run win at home to Cheshunt.

Batting first, Wood posted a decent total of 230 for six from their 50 overs with Jonathan Rice the pick of their batsmen as he hammered a quick-fire 51. Skipper Rohan Lee started things off with 37 and Ben Frais added 41 as Wood continued their good recent form.

With the ball, Steve Dellavedova once again showed his value to Wood as he picked up four for 18 from his ten overs, before fellow pace-man Gavin Brown joined the attack and took four for 38 as well as a run-out.

Cheshunt eventually were bowled out for 216 with three balls of the match remaining as Wood started to celebrate. Their attention now turns to trying to overhaul leaders Berkhamsted to win the title - with what could be a winner-takes-all game scheduled for the last weekend of the season.
