Watford have confirmed Victor Ibarbo has joined the Hornets from Roma on a season-long loan deal.

We reported last night that the Golden Boys had agreed a deal with the Italian side to bring the Colombia international to Vicarage Road.

Ibarbo arrived in England this afternoon to complete a medical and discuss personal terms and the 25-year-old’s switch has now been made official.

Ibarbo only joined Roma on a one-year loan deal earlier this summer from Cagliari but further arrivals meant he fell down the picking order Stadio Olimpico.

The forward began his career in Colombia with Atletico Nacional and spent three years with the club before moving to Cagliari.

Ibarbo made 121 appearances for the Italian side, scoring 15 times, before switching to Roma in January on a six-month loan.

He played 13 times for Roma during that spell and did enough to convince the club to re-sign him this summer.

But he will spend the current campaign at Watford and becomes the Hornets’ 16th signing of the summer transfer window, although goalkeeper Rafa Romo has already returned to Udinese following a brief loan stint.
