Garston Ladies opened the season with a 3-2 victory over Sherrardswood Ladies in Division One of the Beds & Herts County Girls and Women’s League.
However, it was not such a good start for Garston Ladies 96 as they suffered a 5-1 away defeat at the hands of Hitchin in Division Two.
The Under-16 Jaguars led the way for the junior teams with an impressive 8-0 victory at Harpenden Colts.
Jemina Dawkins (3), Rosie Trevett, Chloe Dinsey (3) and Eleanor Barton all registered for the victors.
A battling performance from the Under-15s was not rewarded as they lost 2-0 against Harvesters.
Meanwhile, the Under-14 Panthers enjoyed a 2-0 success win at St Albans City.
Amira Quraishy netted twice after the break to clinch the win.
Garston’s Under-14 Pumas opened up in style with a 5-0 victory over Denham United.
Abbie Lafayette (3) and Hannah Coote put the Purples in control before Lauren Nolan-Coggan came out of goal to register after the break.
The Under-13 Lionesses had a tough start following promotion, losing 2-1 at St Albans.
Paige Andrews equalised but the joy was short-lived for the Lionesses.
A 3-1 win over Bishop’s Stortford provided the ideal start to the campaign for the Under-13 Tigers.
Georgia Rosenberg and Yasmin Sheth scored before the break and a debut goal from Natasha Marsh rounded off the win.
The Under-12 Jaguars saw six of their new signings get on the scoresheet with a 7-0 win over Bedwell Stars. Minnie Freed (4), Edema Victory (2) and Darcey Bash all found the back of the net.
However, the Under-12 Leopards did not fare so well as they suffered a 6-2 defeat by Stevenage Borough.
Jeneice Benjamin netted first for the Leopards and the second came by way of an own goal but the gap between the two sides was evident.
