Watford Ladies endured another disappointing afternoon on the road as they lost 4-0 at Durham Women in Women's Super League 2 on Sunday.

The joy of a 3-2 Women's Super League Cup victory over London Bees last month has long since been forgotten with the Lady Hornets' dismal run now reading 15 defeats in their last 16 league and cup fixtures.

The north east outfit were 2-0 up by half-time thanks to goals from Courtney Corrie and Jordan Atkinson.

Beth Hepple might have made it three after the restart but was denied from the penalty spot by Watford keeper Shayla Burgess, first diving to her left to save before gathering the rebound.

The Wildcats would not be made to rue that miss, however, as Corrie grabbed a third before former Golden Girl Sasha Adamson completed the rout just two minutes after making her entrance from the substitutes' bench.

John Salomon's side know they cannot move off the bottom of the division ahead of their final fixture of the season – at home to second-bottom London Bees on Sunday, October 18 at Berkhamsted FC's Broadwater (kick-off 2pm).
