The FA Sunday Cup Round One

There were disappointing early exits for both Hammer and St Josephs with the former losing 5-0 to AC Sportsman and St Josephs, who despite scoring through Connor Flanagan, went down 2-1 at home to Comet Sports.

Safely through to the next round are Bushey Sports Club, who won 3-1 at North Wembley with goals from Wes Taylor, Jeff Candia and Anthony Ball.

Herts Sunday Senior Cup Round Two

An Ashley Lewis goal was not enough to prevent Reed Rangers going out 2-1 at home to Percival.

Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup Round Two

Chorleywood Club enjoyed a 3-1 win at home to Gossoms End thanks to a brace from Chris May and a single James Edwards strike and now have a home draw against Olympian side South Oxhey Labour Club.

Two goals from Croxley FC’s Carl Porchette could not prevent them losing 4-2 after extra-time when they travelled to Hoddesden to meet Friendly FC.

Gadeside Rangers narrowly lost 2-1 at home to Hatfield side Shamrock Rovers, although Rakeim Blaize’s goal gave the visitors concern until the end.

Old Fullerians were drawn away to Great Northern FC and whilst keeping honours even 2-2 at half-time, they went down 5-3 thanks following goals from Joe Rylett and two from Charlie Hailey.

AFC Oddfellows had greater success when visiting Olympian side Hertfordshire Lions, winning through to the next round thanks to a goal from Jamie Gallagher.

Langleybury Cricket Club enjoyed a morning’s rest after they were awarded a walkover against Bury Rangers Reserves but North Watford had to work much harder for their win, travelling to Lea Sports PSG and moving on from 2-2 at half-time to triumph 6-5. A hat-trick from top scorer Shoaib Ali and strikes from Sam Mortimer, Hamid Ali and Shakib Ali saw them through.

Rifle Volunteer Reserves visited Markyate Sunday but goals from Ben Campbell, Harry Blagden, Jake Woolhead and Tom Locke could not see them through to the next round as they lost 5-4.

Oxhey Lions kept their cup hopes alive with a 4-1 win at home over Olympian side Prince George AFC; Ryan King, Ryan Walsh, Carl Wigg and Trafford Nolan all finding the net.

In a match that needed extra-time, Oxhey Rangers were unlucky to be drawn against fellow SWHFA second division side Cassiobury Rangers and in a high-scoring tie lost out 6-3 after leading 2-1 at half-time. Goals from Oxhey’s Richard McCrossan, Ryan Walsh and Luke Foot were not enough after Cassiobury’s Joe and Sam Mortimer both grabbed braces together with strikes from John Harris and Ollie Broughton.

RD FC breezed through with a 5-1 victory over visitors Goffs Oak Comrades from Cheshunt thanks to goals from Sam Ryder, Elliot Myrants-Wilson and Jake Levy plus a Hugh Taylor brace.

Another Olympian side, Roundbush, suffered at local rivals’ hands, losing out 7-2 to high-flying Met Police (Bushey) with Richard Taylor, Ashel Shanahan and Brad Lemmon all scoring two and Dan Branch also finding the net.

A brace from Glen O’Malley and strike from Jordan Allen could not prevent Rickmansworth Athletic exiting the cup, losing 5-3 at St Albans Rangers.

Unathletico Madrid advanced after defeating visitors Croxley FC Reserves 3-2 in a tightly-contested match with Croxley’s goals coming from Jason Quilley and Rishi Doshi.

West Herts had a successful morning, beating FC Bennington 2-1 thanks to goals from Jeremy Audic and Chris Colman.

WSFL Junior Cup Round Two

Sun Postal Sports’ Sam Hakner and Louie Hakner both grabbed two goals to give their side a 4-2 victory over Cassiobury Revolution for whom Chris Massey found the net with their second strike coming via an own goal.

Despite being held 1-1 at half-time, Division Three side Evergreen progressed by winning 5-1 at home to fourth division outfit AC Little Silhoutte of Milan thanks to Dave Wood, Kyle Rimmer, Anthony Bevenga, Dean Alexander and Aleks Jokiel.

Another match tied at half-time 2-2 after Ben Pinder and Harry Hedges had scored for The Compasses saw Bell Rangers advance 8-2 courtesy of a hat trick from top marksman Harrison Harrison and strikes by Marc Bonito, Michael Gubay-Smith, JJ Shapeiro and Max Halcomb.

Two teams well known to each other met as third division Woodlands United overcame fourth division Woodland Laurels 4-0 with a second-half hat trick from Nick Roberts added to a first-half goal from Steve Cook.

Premier Division

Two goals from Green Dragon’s Nathan Singh were enough to give them a 2-1 win over Rickmansworth Rovers, thus allowing them to keep up the pressure on the top teams. Harry Wallace found the net for Rovers.

Tom Kennedy and Spencer Bellotti both grabbed two goals in Oakview‘s 4-0 win over Oxhey Estates while newcomers Vision United beat Rifle Volunteer 5-3 thanks to a hat-trick from Adam Wallace and two goals from Joel Norris. Rifle’s Andy Lomas hit one goal and Tom Horton grabbed a brace.

Division One

The only match in this division surprisingly saw honours end even with mid-table West Watford and second-placed South Oxhey Labour Club playing out a 4-4 draw. Tony Mitchell (2), Aamer Khan and Zahir Shah scored for the home side with Robbie Martin (2), Andy Avis with Aaron Davis finding the net for Labour.

Division Three

Second-placed Hertsmere (Sunday) were disappointed to share the points in a 2-2 draw at home to mid-table Green Dragon Reserves after goals from Michael Miller and Marcus Mingel. Terry Cox was on target twice for Dragon.

Leaders Tudor Vets made easy work of basement side Railway Arms as they eased to an 8-1 home victory. James Hussey scored Railway’s consolation goal but Dave Herbert starred for the Vets with six, supported by one each from Kyle Mann and Jason Blake.

Division Four

Jude Bell, Bradley Thompson, Richie Stone and Ciaran Walsh each grabbed two goals and Max Earthrowl added one when leaders Fox and Hounds romped home 9-0 in their trip to Chess United.

Ripstone FC took all three points in a hard-fought contest with fellow mid-table side Ardent FC, winning through 5-4 with two goals from Dan Saunders and single strikes by Adan Highfield, Matthew Sharkey and Brendan O’Donoghue. Ardent’s Keifer Sutherland was doubly disappointed to lose the points after scoring a hat-trick with Chris McHugh adding their fourth.
