Defending champions Belstone continued their upward momentum in the Premier Division with a 5-2 victory over Ware Sports on Saturday.

Darren Turner was on target twice and Darren Butler, Danny Johnson and Ross O’Flynn also scored to leave the Radlett side still three points adrift of leaders Standon and Puckeridge, having played two games more.

The leaders won 5-2 at Sarratt, who had Shaun Banham and Ian McIntosh on target, but a point and a place behind Belstone are Bovingdon. Ben Davis and Harry Woods scored their goals in a 2-1 home win against former table-toppers Cuffley.

Chipperfield Corinthians shared six goals in a 3-3 draw with Hinton; Luke Gain, Alan Lowe and Robert Smith scoring for the home side, but a Ross Shorto goal was all Bushey Sports Club had to show from their 3-1 reverse at Hatfield Social.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Evergreen and Old Parmiterians drew 0-0.

A brace from Matthew Hodges and Aaron Lewis’ goal saw Bedmond and Sports and Social through to the second round of the Herts Intermediate Cup following a 3-2 victory at Hoddesdon Town Reserves.
