Lloyd Doyley continues to train with Charlton Athletic in hope of earning a contract with the club and the Hornets legend featured in the Addicks’ 4-1 Kent Senior Cup victory over Cray Wanderers last night.
The 32-year-old has been with Watford since the age of nine but his deal with the Golden Boys expired in the summer and the defender appreciates his future will almost certainly lie away from Vicarage Road.
Doyley underwent successful neck surgery in May and undertook his rehabilitation work at Watford’s London Colney training ground.
He trained and played with the Hornets’ Under-21 side before joining Charlton on trial in the middle of October.
He has spent just over three weeks with the Addicks and played 69 minutes of their side’s victory over Cray.
