No top flight club has spent less on agents' fees than Watford since October 2014, figures released by the Premier League show.

This afternoon the Premier League published details of its clubs’ payments to agents since October 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015 which revealed the Hornets have paid £1,620,229 to agents.

That period covers both the January transfer window - when Watford were in the Championship - and the summer transfer window which saw the Golden Boys' squad overhauled following their promotion to the top flight.

Fifteen players joined the Hornets during the summer and several players sign new contracts with the club.

The £1,620,229 Watford spent is a sharp rise from the £355,750 the Golden Boys paid during September 2013 and October 2014.

However, Watford's total compares favourably to Bournemouth and Norwich City, the other newly promoted sides.

The Cherries have paid £2,328,862 to agents during the same period while the Canaries have spent £2,484,285.

Liverpool have paid the most to agents during the 12 month period with the Reds spending £14,301,464 on agent fees.

Manchester United are second having paid £13,881,814 while Manchester City are third have spent £12,429,380.

A total of £129.86million was spent by the 20 present Premier League clubs on agents during that timeframe.
