Michael Folivi scored an overhead kick during Watford Under-18s' 1-1 draw against Charlton Athletic in Professional Development League 2 South.
The first goal of the contest arrived on the hour when Addicks goalkeeper Jordan Beeney failed to collect a cross and Folivi was on hand to acrobatically turn the ball home.
But it wasn’t enough to earn victory as a goal from Terrique Anderson ensured the points were shared.
"I think it was our best performance of the season, if I'm honest," youth coach David Horseman told Watford’s website.
“It was a very physical test and I thought the boys stood up to that superbly. We still tried to play our football and I think we were by far the better team.
"So I'm very pleased with the performance, but of course slightly disappointed that we didn't win the match as I thought we deserved to. But I can't fault the boys as they were excellent throughout."
Watford Under-18s: Thomas; Sesay, Rowan, Stevens, Mason; Charles, Trialist, Ryan, Pereira, Carvalho; Folivi.
