Quique Sanchez Flores says the historic FA Cup has much more prestige than Spain’s Copa Del Rey but the Watford boss admits the competition may prove too long for his side.

The Hornets take on Newcastle United at Vicarage Road tomorrow in the third round of the oldest knockout club competition in the world.

The tie will be Flores’ first experience of the FA Cup and it is one he is looking forward to.

“The FA Cup is more historic than the Copa Del Rey in Spain because that’s only been running from 1978,” the Watford boss, who finished runener up in the Copa in 2010, said.

“So the FA Cup is so much older. The prestige of the FA Cup is more so than the Copa in Spain.

“When you work in other countries you can sense the FA Cup is different. Everyone wants to go to Wembley to go to the final.

"We are able to win any single match at this moment but the problem is the FA Cup is so long. It is not just three or four games.

“It’s a long competition so it is not the best thing for us. I don’t want to change the rules of FA Cup but our team has its limits. So we need to manage the players.

“We are ready to win every single matches but we have different tools to use. The full squad has trained well and it is a big opportunity for other players.”
