Watford Under-18s continued their impressive form this season after finishing as beaten finalists in the Under-19 Yokohama Cup in Germany.

The Hornets faced Sparta Prague in yesterday's final and the match finished goalless. The tie went to penalties and the Czech Republic side won 4-2.

It was Watford's second penalty shootout of the competition after defeating Club Brugge 5-4 in the semi-final after the match had also finished 0-0.

In the group stage, the Hornets were held to a goalless draw against VfL Bochum.

Watford defeated Sparta Prague 1-0 after a goal from Andrew Eleftheriou and also overcame Kaiserslautern 2-1 with efforts from Ashley Charles and Ogo Obi as they finished top of Group B.

The competition took place in Ostrach and the teams played 50 minute matches.

It has been a memorable season for the Under-18s after the team finished top of the Professional Development League South Two.

The Hornets secured a 15-match unbeaten run and 11 consecutive clean sheets before losing to Sheffield United in their play-off semi-final last month.
