Liverpool hope to receive more than £4m in compensation from Watford for striker Jerome Sinclair.
The 19-year-old has agreed a move to Vicarage Road this summer after his contract expires at Anfield.
But Liverpool will be due compensation for him because the forward is under the age of 24.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the club accepted a £4m plus add-ons offer from Bournemouth in April but Sinclair showed no interest in the move.
Watford have reportedly not returned with another offer since their £1.5m bid was rejected in January.
Bournemouth's offer is likely to be used by Liverpool at the Premier League tribunal which will determine how much Watford will have to pay for the attacker.
Sinclair's representative Roberto De Fanti explained the reason behind the player's decision to move on.
De Fanti told TuttoMercatoWeb: "At the moment Liverpool have players of the level of Christian Benteke and Adam Lallana often kept on the bench.
"With Sinclair, the guy realised that to emerge perhaps it would be better to make a fresh start.
"To a club, always in the Premier League, which could give him the chance to play with more continuity."
