The Watford Observer understands the Hornets are still interested in West Brom striker Saido Berahino but the club have not made an offer for the forward.

Watford were heavily linked with the 22-year-old last month and remain keen on Berahino despite holding onto captain Troy Deeney after agreeing a new five-year contract.

The Hornets signed striker Isaac Success for a club record fee at the end of last week but the Premier League side are still looking to bring in another forward this summer.

Stoke City have been trying to sign Berahino but have failed to agree a fee for the player after having an offer in the region of £15m turned down.

It is believed West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace is still looking for £20m for the striker, due to the inflated transfer fees this summer, despite only having 12 months remaining on his current contract.

Berahino struggled for form last season scoring seven goals in 35 appearances and missing two penalties in April's home defeat against Watford.
