The Watford Observer understands Newcastle United have not made a bid for centre-back Craig Cathcart.
Rafa Benitez's side were linked with a move for the Northern Ireland international this week with reports claiming a £7m offer had been made.
But the Hornets have not received an offer from the Championship side and it is believed they would have no interest in selling the defender.
The 27-year-old made 40 appearances for Watford last season and his consistency earned him third place in the player of the season award.
Cathcart helped Northern Ireland reach the second round of Euro 2016 this summer and played in all four matches for his country in France.
