WATFORD bowler Steven Finn has been named in the England squad for next week’s first test against Pakistan.
The former Parmiter's School pupil and Middlesex fast bowler is part of a 12-man squad for the first of the four-test series, which gets underway at Lord's next Thursday.
He keeps his place after taking seven wickets in England’s series win over Sri Lanka last month.
Despite enjoying only mixed fortune across the series, he ended in fine form, recovering from a wasteful 1-93 in the second test to record 3-45 in the third.
Finn missed England’s T20 World Cup campaign earlier this year, which saw them reach the final, after suffering a calf injury in nets while training but was restored to the side ahead of the Sri Lanka series in May.
He reached a total of 120 test wickets during the final test of that series, in what was his 32nd match in the format.
National selector James Whitaker said: “Pakistan will give us a stiff challenge during this series and we can expect some fantastic cricket from both sides over the next couple of months.”
