The Watford Observer understands the Hornets could complete the signing of Napoli wing-back Juan Camilo Zuniga today.
According to a source in Italy, Zuniga's move to Watford is likely to be finalised in the next few hours.
The Hornets have been linked with a move for the 30-year-old Colombia international throughout this summer.
New Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri spent four years working with Zuniga at Napoli and has identified him as one of his transfer targets.
Mazzarri is renowned for playing wing backs in a 3-5-2 system and versatile right-back Zuniga would be able to comfortably slot into this role.
Watford signed centre-back Christian Kabasele last week but the Premier League side are still in the market for defenders and have reportedly also tabled a bid for Inter Milan's Juan Jesus this week.
