Almen Abdi and Daniel Pudil have completed permanent moves to Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon.
The Hornets ended days of intense speculation over the pair's future in confirming their departure, nearly a week after Abdi was omitted entirely from the squad for their final pre-season tour game in Austria on Saturday.
The Swiss midfielder's looming absence has drawn sadness from large parts of the Vicarage Road fan base, with whom he was a popular figure during four years in Hertfordshire.
Pudil's move to Yorkshire was somewhat less surprising, given he spent last season on loan with Carlos Carvahal's side.
He made 108 Watford appearances in total, after initially signing on loan from then Pozzo-owned Granada in 2012.
Abdi became a fans' favourite during his 130 games in Hornets colours, scoring 25 goals in the process and starting more than half of their Premier League games last season.
