Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra has agreed a move to Watford, sources close to the player have confirmed to the Watford Observer.

The 25-year-old Argentina international will sign a five-year deal at the club ahead of this weekend's game with Chelsea, and will likely be unveiled officially on Friday.

He may be available to go straight into the squad against Antonio Conte's side at Vicarage Road, with only international clearance a potential pitfall.

Pereyra marks a major coup for Walter Mazzarri in his summer transfer business, and he featured heavily in his first season in Turin, two years ago, when the club reached the Champions League final, as well as winning the Coppa Italia and Serie A.

The head coach announced last week he was looking to add at least two or three players to his squad before the end of the transfer window, and versatile Pereyra may be seen as the missing creative link in Mazzarri's midfield.

He was deployed as a winger when he arrived as a 20-year-old to Pozzo-owned Udinese in 2011, but since his move to Juventus has been deployed more centrally, and will be favourite to take the number eight shirt left vacant so far this season.
