Chelsea manager Antonio Conte praised the impact of his substitutes in their late 2-1 win at Watford.

The Blues were heading for a shock defeat until Michy Batshuayi came off the bench to equalise and Cesc Fabregas produced a superb assist for Diego Costa's winner.

Conte said: "It was a good impact from the substitutes but it was the same against West Ham.

"I think it's normal because when you push during the game usually the opponent puts in a lot of effort and when the new players come on there is a great impact.

"I'm pleased for Victor Moses, Cesc and Batshuayi because the impact was very good. It's important for me because this shows a great spirit of the team and the right attitude and commitment."

Conte continued: "I understand when you don't start the game usually you are not happy, but it's normal, because the manager must choose a starting XI and find the right solution during the game.

"I think these two games we saw this and I'm pleased they had the right commitment and attitude of the players."
