Burnley and Derby are both eyeing late deals for Watford's Ikechi Anya, the Watford Osberver understands, but no move has yet been made for him.

The Scotsman, currently with his national side ahead of this weekend's World Cup qulaifiers, has taken the interest of Clarets boss Sean Dyche, who is assessing a number of options to add to his squad.

Derby manager Nigel Pearson is also attempting to engineer a deal for the midfielder, days after the Rams completed an £8-million move for striker Matej Vydra.

As yet, no bid has been received by Watford for the 28-year-old from either club, with less than seven hours until the transfer window closes at 11pm.

Anya joined Watford in 2013 and has made 109 appearances for the Hornets, but has played only nine minutes of their opening three league games.

And while it would not be a major surprise if he left Vicarage Road before the day is out, he could prove valuable to the Hornets through making up one of their home-grown quota.
