Seven major winners and a victorious European Ryder Cup winning captain are among the stand out names on the entry list for the British Masters at The Grove.

Led by 2016 tournament ambassador Luke Donald and fellow event ambassadors Lee Westwood and Rio Olympic gold medallist and 2013 US Open Justin Rose, the entries also include reigning Masters champion Danny Willett, 2010 US Open winner Graeme McDowell and three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington.

Fellow Major winners Angel Cabrera, Trevor Immelman and Y. E. Yang have also entered the Sky Sports-backed tournament at the Chandler’s Cross hotel and golf complex which starts on Thursday, October 13 and the event is also set to be boosted by the inclusion of Jose Maria Olazabal.

The Watford Observer has been told the popular Spaniard, who played in seven Ryder Cups and was captain for their remarkable comeback triumph at Medinah in 2012, has confirmed he will play, while up to six members of the team who will be bidding to make it seven European wins out of eight at Hazeltine this week may also be in the field.

Along with Rose, Westwood and Willett, defending British Masters champion Matthew Fitzpatrick and fellow Englishmen Andy Sullivan and Chris Wood have also entered.

And the tournament is also set to feature professionals from London and the home counties as Barnet's Andrew 'Beef' Johnston and Marlow's Tyrrell Hatton are also in line to take part, but the European Tour website currently shows Bushey and Moor Park Golf Club's Callum Shinkwin below the entry cut off line. However, that is subject to change before the start of the tournament.
