Napoli are keen to sign Odion Ighalo in the January transfer window according to the Watford striker's agent.

Ighalo was linked with a move away from the club this summer, after reportedly turning down a move to Shanghai SIPG, before signing a new long-term contract.

But the player's agent Patrick Bastianelli has indicated there will be more interest in the Nigerian over the winter.

Bastianelli told Radio Marte: "Over the past two years he has been on a great run with a total of 36 goals.

"In January it may be difficult to go away, Watford and the Pozzo family has excellent relations with Napoli, but it will be difficult to sell in the winter market.

"The last year he has also been wanted by Chelsea and Manchester United, but Watford had not even sat down to deal with then.

"We're talking about a guy who is part of the Nigerian national team. In football anything can happen, we'll see."

Ighalo was dropped for the recent win at Middlesbrough after a disappointing run of form but returned to the side for Saturday's draw at Swansea City.
