Watford have been handed a boost ahead of their Leicester test on Saturday, with the news first-team regulars Sebastian Prodl and Heurelho Gomes will be fit to face the Foxes.

Gomes had been sidelined by a knee complaint which looked set to keep him out of this weekend's clash, as fluid on his knee restricted the Hornets' medical staff for nearly a week in fully assessing the injury which forced him off at Liverpool.

Prodl missed the game at Anfield altogether and also was forced to pull out of Austria's squad for their two games over the international break, have originally been called-up despite his injury.

But both will now be back in Walter Mazzarri's squad for the visit of Leicester, and will likely be joined by Stefano Okaka - who appears to have finally bought himself some luck.

A summer signing from Anderlecht, one substitute appearance at West Ham is all the Italian international could make before he was forced off only 12 minutes after coming on.

But Mazzarri confirmed despite still needing to "understand his condition", he would be "at least on the bench".

Elsewhere, Craig Cathcart and Isaac Success are both too far away from recovery for a date to be set for their return, with Mazzarri referring to their injuries as taking "some weeks to recover", and Christian Kabasele will not be fit after picking up an injury on international duty.

Jose Holebas will be missing after picking up his fifth booking of the season at Anfield a fortnight ago, but the Watford head coach said he was not overly concerned by his absence.

He said: "It’s an important player who has been massively important for us.

"We’ll miss him for the game, but one or two suspensions throughout the year can happen to a player in that position.

"It’s important the player who will replace him does his best. I have different possibilities, but it depends on what tactic I decide to put out this week.

"The first two choices are probably Zuniga or Janmaat, but there is also the option of having Amrabat playing in that position."
