Sun Sports recorded back-to-back wins in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division last week.

In their mid-week fixture Sun saw off Tring Athletic in a 1-0 scoreline.

Kyle Johnson scored the only goal of the game.

On Saturday, Sports came away from Lowfield with three points after winning 3-1 over Hoddeson Town.

The home side gained the first clear attempt on goal with their shot bouncing off the crossbar.

The game did not go ahead without any drama as in the same incident Sun’s Tom Gibson was taken off the pitch with concussion and was replaced by Deji Ikuesmori.

Chances came from both sides but it was to no avail and the half ended 0-0.

Soon after the restart Jamie Speer found space in the box and let rip.

The shot deflected off of a Hoddesdon defender and the ball rolled over the line.

Sports soon made it two when Kyle Johnson beat the offside trap.

He went one-on-one with the keeper and held his composure to lob the ball over him to make it 2-0.

But the away side did not give in and rallied together to pull one back from a free-kick on the edge of the box.

But before the Lillywhites could try and gain an equaliser, Dom David coolly passed the ball to Johnson who slotted the ball home past the Town keeper.

Oxhey Jets were left with another defeat following their cup exit last week losing 3-1 to Leighton Town in a league fixture.

Sim Armstrong scored the only goal for the Jets.

Although Tring lost out in mid-week they managed to overcome Welwyn Garden City in a 3-2 win last Saturday.

Athletic had to do it the hard way after they conceded a goal after 40 seconds when Ash Kersey slotted the ball past Jack Hopwood.

But in the 20th minute they found the equaliser through Luke Dunstan who headed the ball into the net from a Lee Stobbs corner.

Just before the first half ended Tring took the lead when Jack Reed’s headed looped into the net from a Chris Mason cross.

Welwyn had to make two enforced substitutions and Marcus Campbell was the player who charged down a Hopwood clearance and had the simple task of slotting home into an empty net.

City should have taken the lead after a period of pressure but Mason added Tring’s third to seal the three points.

It was points shared at Pancake Lane on Tuesday in the Dacorum Derby between Leverstock Green and Berkhamsted.

The game ended 2-2 with The Comrades giving away a 2-0 lead.

For the opening goal Steve Hawes curled a fine shot inside the left post past Mark Berg.

Berkhamsted’s second came when Lewis Bowers pulled down Ashley Lewis for a penalty.

Tom Carter stepped up and fired into the corner from the penalty spot.

Green were given a glimmer of hope when Carl Tasker gave away a penalty by diving at Jonathan Lacey.

Danilsen Vincente scored from the spot to reduce the deficit.

In the second half Green ran at pace and caused the Berko defence problems.

Ross Adams tapped home the equaliser at the back post to score against his old club and gain a point for his new.

Berkhamsted fell to a 3-2 defeat to London Tigers after the home side went 3-0 up after 47 minutes.

Ruben Coloval opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a fine long shot at the Canal End of Broadwater.

Tigers skipper Joez Ramos scored from a deflection just before the interval when he took a shot from just outside the area.

The game was put to bed by superior finishing from the Tigers when Youssef Benali scored in the early stages of the second period. He broke free and lobbed the ball over Tasker.

Aston Campbell and Lewis both scored to reduce the deficit to one in the second half but it was not to be.

Green were hit by the weather again for their Saturday SSML Premier Division fixture. Their match against Hadley was postponed due to the pitch at Brickfield Lane being deemed as unplayable.
