Watford super-sub Isaac Success says he is ready to play a full 90 minutes for the Hornets and has been left "disappointed" by comments regarding his fitness by the club's hierarchy.

The 20-year-old admitted he would not use his surname to describe his first season in English football, after being picked in Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri's starting line-up only once, and playing a mere 74 minutes for the club since the start of 2017.

Mazzarri has repeatedly insisted Success must improve his fitness if he is to play a significant part in the Italian's squad, and reiterated that view after Saturday's defeat at Crystal Palace.

But the Nigerian forward rebuffed any questions over his stamina following his international debut in last night's 1-1 draw with Senegal at The Hive, and said he "could play even more than 90 minutes" if asked.

He said: "I’m a bit disappointed, everyone at Watford says Isaac is not fit and not ready to play - but for me, I’m ok.

"I played more than 20 minutes here, and looked sharp and fit. I’m just waiting for that same opportunity from [Walter] Mazzarri and everything will be ok - I could play even more than 90 minutes."

The versatile front man was deployed on the right of a front three for the Super Eagles, appearing spritely and potent despite of Senegal's overall dominance on the night.

Success was left unsurprisingly buoyant about making his international bow - but was less enamoured when asked about how he has viewed the rest of the campaign.

"For me, it’s been disappointing because I have a target for myself as a player but I haven’t achieved that since the season started," he said. "I just keep working hard, and wait for the right time to come.

"It’s a privilege to play for the national side. I had a good debut for myself and the team had a good game, and we’re waiting to go on and win on Monday [against Burkina Faso].

"When I came on, we got a lot of opportunities and we pushed forward to attack and make more chances to equalise, and we’re happy to have done that.

"We didn’t get the victory, but we got a draw and we’ll need to be a bit better with our shooting in the next game."

Tickets for Monday's game with Burkina Faso at The Hive are still on sale, priced at £20 for adults, and can be purchased here.
