Udinese loanee Sven Kums is expecting to return to Vicarage Road in the summer, and perhaps even don a Watford shirt for the first time since siging for the Hornets.

The Belgian completed a move from Gent last summer but he had barely time to greet his new team-mates before being shipped out on loan to the Pozzo-owned Italian side.

Kums had established himself as a regular for the Zebrette before Christmas, and was near the top of the Serie A charts for his tackles and interceptions per game, as well as a completed pass percentage of 87.5 per cent.

But he has since fallen out of favour with boss Luigi Delneri and has started only three times since January.

"What does the future bring? I expect I will go back to Watford," he told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

"I have not been in the Udinese side and had a conversation with the coach here, because this is not a pleasant situation, and he has been honest with me.

"He prefers physically powerful players, and he sees me primarily as a defensive midfielder who is only involved in the defence. But that's not even my position."
