Oxhey Jets academy manager Warren Gladdy has nothing but praise for Liam Sole after his talent earned him a scholarship with MK Dons.

Sole, who is from Leavesden, has impressed with the Jets setup and Gladdy believes the League One club’s interest is just reward for his dedication.

He said: “When I heard that MK Dons offered Liam a place in their academy I was so happy for him. He has tremendous talent.

“Liam has had some highs and some lows during his development but he has never given up. His hard work, determination and talent have created the opportunity.

“Hopefully, this will be the start of something special for him.”

For Sole’s part, he is looking forward to the challenge of stepping up to the Don’s level and says the coaching he has received with Jets has given him a solid grounding.

He said: “I really appreciate what Warren and the Jets have done for me. They looked after me, got me back on track, and helped create this new opportunity for me. Now I need to make the most of it.”

Sole will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of MK graduate Dele Alli who has gone on to star for Tottenham Hotspur and England having started at the club.

Jets general manager, John Elliott BEM, believes Sole has both the character and talent to succeed.

Elliott said: “Liam has a real talent and has the ability to cruise past other players. He is also a great kid, respectful and determined to succeed.”
