Watford book and live show series Tales from the Vicarage is returning for a sixth time, it has been announced, with former players including John Barnes and Luther Blissett to feature.

The latest iteration in the book series, this time co-edited by former Watford Observer assistant editor and long-serving Hornets correspondent Oliver Phillips and Daily Mirror reporter Mike Walters, will be titled 'Rocket Men' and focus on the Hornets' meteoric ascension through the Football League, starting in the late 1970s.

Appropriately in the year of his passing, it will chart the success off Graham Taylor's first spell in charge at Vicarage Road, including interviews with Steve Sherwood, Ian Bolton, Ross Jenkins and Blissett - the only four players to feature from the very start.

In addition, two live events have been timetabled in to take place in Watford's Palace Theatre for later this year.

The first will feature solely John Barnes, who played for Watford for six years during the Taylor era before leaving for Liverpool, and will be held on Friday, September 8.

The second, featuring the quartet of Blissett, Sherwood, Bolton and Jenkins, will take place on Sunday, November 12.
